Some of you may remember one of my previous posts called A day to remember and the food was vegan. The post was about hosting Tony Cowell at our place at the time he was was touring with Kenny Wiz as part of Michael Jackson Tribute Concerts. Well, we ate the gozlemes but I kept the box to write the review. It has been tossed around in my study for quite awhile. At some stage it even became the ultimate container/organiser for the other product boxes that were waiting for their turn to be reviewed. Anyway, today is the day…
Frozen Gozleme with spicy potato, paprika and onion filing from The Authentic Pastry Company –company details are at the end of this post. It is made from yeast-free pastry. There are other varieties around however, this is the only frozen one which is vegan.
There are 2 sheets of Gozleme in each box weighing 700 grams altogether. Because the potatoes are quite filling, I reckon it would be enough for 4 people.
Spicy Potato with Paprika and Onion Gozleme is an incredibly fast and easy lunch option. All you need is freshly squeezed lemon juice and fresh salad. We usually share 1 gozleme between us.
Ingredients: Wheat flour, salt, water, potato, paprika, onion, white pepper.
Cooking instructions from the pack is below although I always cook them from frozen.
Storage: Keep frozen. Once thawed do not re-freeze, keep refrigerated and cook and consume within 24 hours.
Where to buy: Tasty Gozleme is available at selected Woolworths supermarkets and other specialty shops or delis. We buy ours from Gima (Turkish supermarket in Auburn) Our local Woolworths stocks the non-vegan ones and a vegetarian variety too but not the spicy potato one.
