This is an overall successful product from Lamyong which we picked up from their stall at the Cruelty Free Festival in the beginning of November. They are made from minced shitake mushrooms and each piece is wrapped around sugarcane sticks –no plastic, so they are environmentally friendly too. The pack contains 24 pieces, weighing 600 grams altogether and a sachet of sweet and sour sauce to accompany the ribs.
Ingredients (Vegetarian Ribs): Mushroom, sugar, vegetarian seasonings, starch, textured soy protein, vegetable oil, soy flour, salt, gluten flour, pepper powder.
Ingredients (Sweet and Sour Sauce): Tomato, chilli, plum, vinegar, sugar, salt, sesame oil, vegetarian seasonings.
1. Defrost Vegetarian Ribs and sauce sachet.
2. Pan-fry the ribs with 2 tbsp of oil on medium high heat until golden brown. Set aside.
3. Empty the sauce sachet into a saucepan and simmer gently until steam is visible, stir the sauce while heating.
4. Pour the sauce over fried ribs. Serve warm with rice.
